When does my benefit coverage start?
For new employees who hold regular status, benefit coverage starts on:
- Extended Health: the first day of the month following your date of regular employment.
- Dental: the first day of the month following 30 days of regular employment.
- Accidental Death & Dismemberment, Group Life and LTD: the first day after you have completed your probationary period.
For new employees who hold casual status, if you elect to purchase Extended Health and Dental benefits after completing 180 hours of work, coverage can start on the first day of any month.
