When does my benefit coverage end?

Your coverage will end if;

  • Your employment is terminated
  • You retire
  • You go on an unpaid leave and elect not to pay the contributions to maintain coverage
  • Your employment status changes to casual, and you either elect not to pay the contributions or are not eligible for coverage as a casual employee
  • You are laid off

For employees who hold regular status, coverage for Dental and Extended Health generally ends at the end of the calendar month you stop being eligible. Coverage for LTD, Group Life, and AD&D ends immediately.

For employees who hold casual status, coverage ends at the end of the month if your employment is terminated, retire, cancel your coverage, elect not to pay contributions to maintain coverage, or you are laid off

Please note, LTD coverage will end five months before your 65th birthday.

Please review the Benefits Booklet that matches your employment status.
